The San Diego Leather Pride Contests and Festival Weekend returns March 14-18, 2018.  The producers and crew at SDLP5 invite you to join one of the biggest, most welcoming, and truly diverse leather communities in America’s Finest City, beautiful San Diego, California.

The five-day festival starts on March 14 with Leather/Fetish Night @ Pictionary hosted by our 2018 emcee, Ms San Diego Leather 2010, Tiger, at Number One on Fifth.  Tiger has been fundraising every Wednesday for five years now, with ALL tips and donations going directly back into the community.

The spacious World Beat Center in Balboa Park is our venue again from the following Thursday March 15 through Sunday March 18.  This has become a favorite venue--it has ample free parking, the WBC is an easy 10-minute ride to the Hillcrest area.  You’ll also enjoy the bootblacks, vendors, and special entertainers in the private, tented area connected to the venue.

Thursday night we open at the World Beat Center with a brief farewell message from the outgoing 2017 titleholders, and then celebrate our “Tribes That Bind” when Sir Karen and Boots host one of the largest All Clubs Nights in Southern California. Over 20 unique clubs are there for you to network with, and to compete in The Leather Olympics where the top three teams chosen by YOU by vote will win prizes and bragging rights for the year.

Since 2013, the leather flag has been flown from Friday to Sunday during Leather Pride.  All are welcome to witness a Leather Color Guard raise the flag at the Hillcrest Flag Pole on Friday March 16 at the intersection of Normal and University (thanks to the Hillcrest Business Association) at 5 p.m.  Then, back at the World Beat Center at 7 are the opening ceremonies with a blessing from the Sisters and contestant introductions.

Join us Friday night from 9p - 1a for a “Twisted” Fetish Dance Party like no other.  San Diego Leather Pride presents a night to explore rhythm and movement where they intersect with sexuality and expression! Join folk from varied paths, diverse expression and open minds at the World Beat Center in Balboa Park, under the stars and in the house of music! While DJ Matt Effect (Sydney, Australia) flexes his fingers to create the groove, swell in delight and passion with others, enjoy drink specials and raffle prizes, and savor the LIVE fetish performances all night long!

Saturday night, we host the annual San Diego Bootblack and Mr and Ms San Diego Leather Contests with bootblacks and servers who will attend to your desires while you enjoy the array of contestants who have LOTS to show you this year.  The fourth San Diego Bootblack and the 24th and 36th Ms and Mr San Diego Leather will be chosen by a panel of esteemed and titled community members, including head judge Mark O’Keefe (Mr San Diego Leather 97)!

Finally, Sunday is your best opportunity to get those leather gifts at the leather vendor faire in the lot, while we host a catered victory brunch with keynote speaker inside the WBC.  Bootblacks will be available and the Leather History Project will have exhibits up for the last day.  We’re also thrilled to announce that, with your support from the weekend, we will announce the amount raised for our 2018 fundraising partners, the #COMMUNITYBEGINSWITHME and #BEWHOYOUNEEDED campaigns for San Diego charities.

This year we have an improved ticketing system featuring printable, QR-coded tickets to ensure smoother entry. The basic weekend package is a $75 value, but to celebrate our Federal Recognition as 501(c)(4), we’re offering a discounted weekend pass for $60 on our newly redesigned website (Thank you GoGo!), for a limited time only. Grab your pass now before the price goes up, and bookmark our site for plenty of updates on the NEW San Diego Leather Pride! www.sdleatherpride.org
